Welcome to the Buddha Cafe... whether relaxing, chilling out, or expressing your buddha nature, this exotic collection where east meets west sets the mood and creates the groove. Buddha Cafe is the first in a series of follow up collections that will transport the listener through a portal of sound and culture. Where blissful beats, downtempo chillout, excursions in electronica, and global grooves bridge the gap between ancient and modern. So step inside the Buddha Cafe and journey with the artists and musicians from beginning to end as they set a course for travels within.
The artists on Buddha Cafe express the growing interest in eastern flavored music with a contemporary western twist. From the opening track by No Noise, a chillout piece that sets the mood in a true chillout fashion to the deep mesmerizing downtempo grooves of Govinda. The smooth silky vocals of Lotus pick up the pace and bring in elements of dance music which easily flow into the electro ethno-grooves of Ikarus. The music of Prem Joshua is remixed into a mantra of piano electronica where jazzy sounds of Masala's flute & piano soar through the cafe. Omar Faruk Tekbilek brings the seductive side to the cafe with his magical blend of hypnotic Turkish charm as the spacious sounds of Phobos appear as bubbling tablas and dreamy vocals. The majestic feel of liquid sitars and a caravan of lushful melodies feels so good from the Spirit Level. Deep bass grooves and the pulsing beats of Waterbone swirl around the cafe into the traveling moods of Upanishad revealing closing time at the Buddha Cafe.
